Here is a picture of my new stick pad that I completed today. The pad itself I found in a box of industrial scrap. I don't think it's Garolite. It feels like UHMW, although I've never seen black UHMW before. It has a very nice matte surface.
Beneath that is a square of 14ga. bright hardware cloth in a 1/2" grid. Both wires are soldered onto the grid. Resistance is negligible, so essentially the same wire. i may or may not use both.
The bottom is a piece of unfinished spruce, or white pine.

Anyway, quite happy to have finished the first component of my first-ever radionic machine. Plan to practice with the stick pad while I work on the next part.

Looks good. Garolite as a phenolic has a nice rubbing surface, It's what I've used before. Hopefully it gives a nice reaction.
